NAPZ Prize Tournament Winners

ICCF-US and ZPR Investment Management, Inc. are pleased to announce that the Final Master Class Sections of the 1995 and 1997 Promotional Class Prize Tournaments recently finished.

The 1995 Master Class Final was a very close tournament (see crosstable). Jon Edwards took first place with 4.5 points. Three players scored 4 points. Their places were determined by S-B tiebreak pursuant to the tournament announcement. The winners are:

1st Place, $500: Jon Edwards, USA
2nd Place, $275: Wayne Conover, USA
3rd Place, $150: René DuCret, USA
4th Place, $75: Wang Mon Lin, Singapore

The 1997 Master Class Final finished much quicker since it was played by email. It also had a close finish (see crosstable). The third and fourth places had to be determined by tiebreak. The winners are:

1st Place, $1000: Ceasar Posylek, Canada
2nd Place, $600: Wang Mon Lin, Singapore
3rd Place, $250: John Barrance, New Zealand
4th Place, $150: Douglas Eckert, USA

Master Class Preliminary Round winners received a ½ qualification to the North America/Pacific Zone Championship. Those players with positive scores in the Final Round also received a second ½ qualification to the North America/Pacific Zone Championship. All the above mentioned winners had positive scores in their Final Rounds.

ZPR Investment Management, Inc. guaranteed the 2 Prize Funds. The prizes totaled $6625 for the 2 tournaments. The 1995 Higher, Class I, Class II, and Class III sections finished between 1998 and 2000. ZPR Investment Management, Inc. is solely owned by Max Zavanelli, ICCF-US Secretary. The company specializes in Small Cap Value management. In 2002, ZPR's small cap value accounts were up 33.67%. For the 2001-2002 period, they were up 70.49% while the S&P500 was down, -31.36%.
